Connection improvement tips

Tips to Improve Your Connection
If you start experiencing lag or a drop in image quality during your session on Aristeem, consider the following:

In addition to your internet connection, other factors may potentially cause these issues:

  • Your device does not meet our system requirements, which means that when using Aristeem, your device's memory and CPU may become heavily loaded.

  • Significant distance to our servers. The closer you are to our servers, the better your ping and session quality will be.

Below are some tips to improve your connection. These should be applied both before and during your session on Aristeem. Note that these tips are universal and can also be applied to other cloud-based platforms.

Use a Stable Internet Connection:

Use a fiber-optic cable, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi at 5 GHz. If you're using a Wi-Fi router at 2.4 GHz, DSL, or even a mobile network, there’s a high chance your experience won’t be smooth.

Reduce Load on Your Internet Connection:

If you’re sharing your internet with others, ask them to avoid downloading, uploading files, or streaming heavy videos while you’re using Aristeem. While other digital services (e.g., Netflix, Amazon) may allow simultaneous usage, cloud-based platforms like Aristeem strongly recommend avoiding such activities.

Reduce Device Load (Memory, CPU):

Close all unnecessary browsers, tabs, programs, and processes on your device to reduce strain.

Disable VPN, Firewall, and Ad Blockers:

Ensure that VPN, firewall, and ad-blocking software are turned off on your device.

Try Different Browsers or Applications:

Test different browsers (e.g., Opera, Chrome). If one option provides a better visual and performance experience, stick with it.

Restart if Something Fails:

If something doesn’t work the first time (e.g., failed connection to the virtual machine or an issue with specific software), try the same procedure a few minutes later or after restarting your router, device, browser, or application. Often, the issue resolves itself with a simple restart.

Turn Off Power-Saving Mode:

Disable power-saving mode on your device, especially on tablets and laptops.

Use Aristeem During Off-Peak Hours:

Try using Aristeem at different times of the day. At certain times, your internet may perform better due to reduced load and demand.

Disable macOS Location Services:

It has been found that macOS location services can degrade network quality. For now, we recommend disabling these services. For more information about location services, see here: macOS Location Services .

Adjust Mouse Polling Rate and Bitrate:

If you’re experiencing high input lag, try changing the polling rate of your mouse and reducing the session bitrate. You can find detailed instructions for your specific mouse model online.

Change Streaming Bitrate and FPS:

If you notice frame drops (stuttering), we recommend disabling all system overclocking applications (e.g., MSI Afterburner).

For information on how to change your stream’s bitrate and FPS, refer to this guide:

How to change bitrate and streaming FPS

Update Drivers:

Ensure all drivers on your device are updated to the latest versions.
